Is it true that employers give least preference to candidates with 'distance/online learning qualifications?
It is a tough question to answer because it really depends on the organization, as well as their hiring criteria. Although we can not change the way employer thinks, but in most decent and forward thinking organizations, employment criteria is driven by the candidate's know-how, ability to solve problems, and other practical skills. NOT exactly on how you obtained that know-how.
Today companies believe that a distance/online learning qualifications is as valid as a degree obtained by attending classes on campus. In some cases, it is superior. Earning an online diploma demonstrates special skills that are highly regarded at the workplace, such as self-motivation, will power, desire for improvement, personal organization and responsibility. What really matters is the student's learning capacity and ability to perform the job successfully.
